Frequently Asked Questions

How does my student apply?

  • Click the appropriate Apply button anywhere they appear on this website. This will take you to an external system for application/registration.
  • If you have trouble with the online application , call 479-575-2562 or email for assistance.
  • Please ensure that your student completes the essay questions , if required.
  • If you are interested in being considered for a scholarship, be sure to check the box indicating you would like to be considered and then either upload or email documentation showing that your child is eligible for free or reduced lunch to We will consider awarding scholarships due to other extenuating circumstances on a case by case basis. When are the important deadlines?

  • Camp applications, payments for all camps other than the Engineering Summer Academy, and documentation required for scholarships are due May 1st
  •  Students are accepted  for all camps other than the Engineering Summer Academy in the order they register until camps are full. Payment information will be sent beginning March 1st and on a rolling basis thereafter.
  • Engineering Summer Academy only: All applications are reviewed at the same time so there is no priority given for early application. Acceptance decisions will be made in early May and payment will be due June 1st.

Are scholarships or other forms of financial aid available for your camps?

  • Scholarships are available for ALL programs and are based on need.
  • Priority is given to students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Other extenuating financial circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Scholarship decisions will be made beginning March 1st and on a rolling basis thereafter.

How can I pay my program fee?

  • Beginning in March, we will send  emails that include access to the University's online payment portal. This portal allows credit/debit card payments.

What is your refund policy?

  • We will refund paid program fees in full as long as you send written notice of cancellation to on or before June 1st
  • Refunds requested after June 1st will be refunded 50%. 

How can my student have the best chance of being accepted to the Engineering Summer Academy?

  • Have your child all required essays to the best of their ability.
  • Have teachers or counselors review student application materials prior to submitting.
  • Do not send teacher recommendations. We no longer require nor accept teacher recommendation letters.

What should my student bring to camp?

  • The only thing your child needs to bring to most camps is an open mind and a great attitude.
  • A detailed packing list will be sent to students accepted to the Engineering Summer Academy residential program.

What should my student wear to camp?

  • You child should wear what they usually wear to school.
  • Please note that closed toe shoes are required in the labs and some Engineering Summer Academy students will also be required to wear long pants on lab days.
